Yes. Cassian connects to Shopify through the GraphQL Admin API with read-only scopes. It monitors products, variants, prices, order counts, pages, and your storefront HTML — everything that determines whether your store is healthy.
Do I need to install anything on my theme?
No. Cassian makes no theme changes and injects no storefront scripts. It reads your catalog through the Admin API and crawls your storefront the way a search engine does. Your theme is untouched.
What permissions does Cassian request?
Read-only scopes covering products, orders, and content. Cassian never requests write access on standard plans, so it cannot change a price, edit a product, or alter your theme even by accident.
How quickly will I know if my store stops taking orders?
Order Pulse compares your order count against a weighted historical baseline. Inspector gets zero-order critical alerts. Analyst analyses every 6 hours, Protector every 2, Guardian and above hourly. A zero-order period on a store that normally sells raises an incident automatically.
Does Cassian monitor stock levels on Shopify?
Not currently. Stock Monitor needs the inventory-tracking flag, which Shopify only exposes under the read_inventory scope — a scope Cassian deliberately does not request, because it widens access beyond what the rest of the product needs. Stock monitoring is available on WooCommerce and BigCommerce today.
Will Cassian slow my store down?
No. Catalog data comes through the Admin API, and storefront crawling runs on external infrastructure with respectful rate limiting. Your customers are unaffected, and your storefront serves the same pages it always did.
