Cassian Score™
The single 0–100 health metric that captures everything Cassian monitors about your store.
Cassian Score™
The Cassian Score™ is the number that matters most in Cassian. It's a single 0–100 figure that summarises how healthy your store is across five layers: technical performance, content quality, translation accuracy, platform consistency, and AI readiness.
One number. Everything in it.
You'll see your Cassian Score front and centre on your dashboard, updated after every scan. When it goes up, something got better. When it goes down, Cassian has found something worth your attention — and it will tell you exactly what.
What the number means
Your score sits in one of three ranges, each with a specific meaning:
80–100 — Your store is in great shape.
The fundamentals are solid. Cassian may surface minor improvements, but nothing urgent. Keep an eye on the Issues page and check back after your next scan.
60–79 — Performing well. A few things to watch.
Your store is functional and mostly healthy, but there are issues worth resolving. Work through the Issues page by severity — Critical and High issues first.
Below 60 — Needs attention. Here's what matters most.
There are meaningful problems affecting your store's health, visibility, or consistency. The Issues page lists everything, ranked by impact. Start at the top.
The score is calculated fresh on every scan. After you fix an issue, trigger a manual scan from the Sites page to see your updated score immediately — you don't have to wait for the next scheduled scan.
The five layers
Your Cassian Score is built from five weighted layers. Each layer measures a different aspect of your store's health:
| Layer | Weight | What it checks |
|---|---|---|
| Technical Health | 30% | Broken links, meta tags, schema markup, SSL, sitemaps, llms.txt |
| Content Quality | 25% | Spelling, thin descriptions, duplicates, heading structure |
| Translation Quality | 20% | Missing translations, machine translation artifacts, variant coverage |
| Platform Consistency | 15% | Shopify backend vs storefront data accuracy |
| LLM Readiness | 10% | AI shopping readiness, structured data, llms.txt |
Technical Health carries the most weight — a significant drop there will move your overall score more than an equivalent drop in LLM Readiness. That's intentional: the technical foundation underpins everything else.
Translation Quality is only included when your store has translations enabled. If your store is monolingual, this layer is excluded entirely and the other four layers are reweighted to total 100%. You can configure your translation settings in Sites → your store → Settings → Language.

Common questions
Can the score ever reach 100? Yes, though it's rare. A perfect 100 means Cassian found zero issues across all active layers. Well-maintained stores with active Shopify connections and translations enabled tend to hover in the 80–90 range during normal operations.
Why did my score drop when I didn't change anything? A few possibilities: Cassian may have crawled pages it hadn't reached before, your store content may have been updated by a team member, or a previously minor issue may have worsened (for example, a broken link that was borderline is now firmly broken). The Issues page will show newly detected issues with the date they were first found.
Does the score account for my tier? No — the score is calculated the same way regardless of your plan. What differs by tier is how many pages Cassian crawls and which features are active. A higher tier means more thorough coverage, which can surface issues that weren't visible before.
What's the difference between a score deduction and an issue? Issues are the individual findings Cassian surfaces. Each issue has a severity level — Critical, High, Medium, or Low — and that severity determines how much it contributes to the score deduction. Fixing a Critical issue will move your score more than fixing a Low one.
How often does my score update? Your score is recalculated after every scan. Scans run on a schedule (Inspector weekly, Analyst and above more frequently depending on your tier) and can also be triggered manually at any time from the Sites page.
